Disabling adverts Empty Disabling adverts

I have read all I can find on disabling adverts, and followed the instructions posted elsewhere, but I still cannot disable the adverts. Have I missed something?
Thanks.

This was Luky's answer to a similar problem in an earlier thread on this subject. I thought that I had probably missed something, but it appears from this thread that you don't need points to disable the adverts.

To remove the ads go to admin panel=>Misc=>Points management=>Configuration. There look for this option "Ads are disabled. If you wish to contribute, you can activate theme by yourself thanks to this option." and choose No then click on Validate.

Thanks anyway.

The No option doesn't exist anymore. You can only choose to make ads visible for guests on your forum so when you log in you won't see the ads. If you want to disable the ads(for a period of time) you need to buy points for this, just like Zinex said.

Like Kidder, I'm puzzled by this - can you clarify:
It seems a new forum runs ad free from the start, unless you select to allow adverts (mine seems to be anyway, this is what attracted me to Forumotion), but once you allow them, you have to buy points to disable them again - have I understood this right, as this seems a bit ridiculous. Confused

If you got to the old admin cp then you can disable them again after enabling them.
Yet if you use the new admin cp then they remain on and the option to turn them off disappears?
Could it be a small glitch?
