Thread Splitting Empty Thread Splitting

In my forum , forum Geethanjali, I found that after completing 75 pages of a thread , it splits into two. One remaining active with 8 pages and the other will be locked [with 67 pages].

Why is it so.?

Can I stop that splitting process ??

please dont use bold or colour that is reserved for forumotion staff.

Messages in a subject: 990 messages (once the limit reached, the subject is locked and splitted)

there is no way to stop this that i know of.
