Removing "new topic" button Empty Removing "new topic" button

Post by londonboards March 12th 2008, 11:17 am

When a newbee is looking at the forum they will want to choose "new topic" when instead they should be using "reply". Is there any way we can remove "new topic" button from the posting page so they cannot keep making "new topics" when they should be replying to a post.

Greetings

I don't think removing the "new topic" button would be a nice idea.
If you remove that, you wouldn't be able to create/start a new topic.
I had the same problem before. What I did was, i moved every topic they made to the place where I assumed them to be. I know its a lot of work, but you need to be patient. You have your moderators to help you afterall. And maybe you can teach your members on how to post/reply to a topic if they really don't know how to.

Thanks for your quick reply. It is very kind of you. Yo are right that removing the new topic button would not be good but I do think it should not be on the posting page as people are posting new topics when they mean to place a reply to a post.

Would it be possible to have the new topic button only on the topics page.
