A request for redirect codes

Hello.  I checked the FAQ and didn't see anything that could help me.  I may not know what to look for though.   I hope I posted in the right section as well.  Anyway,  I want two things...







1) Redirects the user to a specific thread after they register - Basically I created a HTML page new members with important links on it for new members.  Now I need a code to redirect them to it after they register.



2) Redirects the user to a specific thread after they post in another specific thread - I'm trying to create a step by step guide so once the member posts the required information in one thread they are redirected to the next thread containing the next step in the guide.






I'm not sure if #2 is possible but I believe #1 is.  If #2 isn't possible a different way to make it happen would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance

I don't think it's possible, but what I do when two threads are related to one another is basically make links that can directed to them and vice versa. If that makes sense.
