Site freezing Empty Site freezing

Post by koolzach1 March 26th 2008, 5:34 am

Hi-

My name is Zach, and I am having a problem with my forum; www.simbaseballhouse.forum0.net

I have talked to members, and the same thing is going on for them. I have recently done a little updating on the site, as it has been the same for a couple of months now. I also decided to add a News Scroller so that members can read important announcements as soon as they log in to the forums. Now, when I try to access my site, not log in, but just get to my site, it will freeze. I think it has something to do with the news scroller that I TRIED to add by putting in the HTML box under forum description. I don't know if that could be it, though, as I have had other forums that I have used, and it never froze when I had the scroller HTML code under forum description or whatever. If I could please get some help, that would be MUCH appreciated, because I have 20 unhappy 'General Managers' trying to bid on free agents Razz

Thanks in advance for all help received,

Zach

Oh wow, give me a few min. to look for the site again. I've had to start my computer a couple of different times since Firefox keeps freezing when I try to access my site. BTW, thanks for the fast response!

Got it! This was just a sample from the site, and I planned on copying that and pasting it, and editing the message to say what I wanted it to read.

<applet code="scroller.class" width=400 height=20>
<param name=text value="Example 3.
This example only specifies the text message,
all other parameters are ommitted so default values are used.">
</applet>

Thanks.

Well I tried to access your forums but they don't exist!

And there's nothing in the applet that should freeze your forum either!

What? They don't exist? I don't know why. What can I do to get them back? I was able to access my site once through the problems, just to turn "Forum in Construction" off, and then when I went and clicked something else, it started to freeze again. Now, none of the members can get on. Is there anything I can do? Any forum recovery?

You can roll back your forum here using your username and password.

Your forum hasn't been deleted for breaking TOS has it? No offense intended but it sometimes happens...

I don't think so. At least, if it has, I haven't been notified Smile

So, should I just "roll back" my forum?

Try rolling it back and see what happens. Let me know.

(And if an Admin deletes a forum then usually there is no notification, but I'm sure you would know if there was illegal content on it anyway!)

Ya know, this is gonna sound kinda dumb... well, very dumb, but it's an honest mistake.

My site URL is actually: http://sbh2.forum0.net/

I have another that is www.simbaseballhouse and that is what messed me up. I guess I was in panic mode, and wasn't thinking straight.

Very very sorry! And very very embarrassed Embarassed

Ok, what I did is removed the HTML errors, and now the site works, but it is very very very wide. I am thinking that I should go in and remove the scroller I put in there and turn HTML back on?
