PLacing file in forum root directory Empty PLacing file in forum root directory

Post by Merlin333 May 9th 2008, 8:41 pm

One of my SEO providers requested that an empty file be placed in my root directory as confirmation of forum ownership.

I have attempted to do this with no success. I use SmsrtFTP it makes many attempts only to fail with a connection closed by server message.

I tried to upload a custom icon file for the forum in the same manner with the same result.

How can I upload a file or files (like a new template) to the server?

Thank you

PLacing file in forum root directory Empty File Upload

Post by Merlin333 May 10th 2008, 1:17 am

Is there any other method? For example sending the file to you for placement. In the instance of the SEO company the file is a simple, empty text file used strictly for the conformation of my forum.

Please advise,

Thanks
