Question about restoring a forum

I would like to restore my forum to the way it was before a thread was deleted. I see that I can use the Restore utility to restore it, but I have a question: If I do this, will it erase all the posts that have been made since the restore point? Or will it leave all the newer posts in, and just put back what was lost? I'd like to know before I do something stupid! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

The posts should remain,

The restore function will only effect the css and html style sheets

I have done it before and all the newer posts remained

However i wouldn't mind a second opinion from another members experience with it.
