Cool Buttons

I hope im posting in the right spot i have messaged a mod but didnt recieve a reply wich is no prob cause he busy im sure. My question is can someone point me in the right direction with making cool buttons. I wanna masically make my links on the site accessible through there pictures if you can understand what i mean? Like if you click your banner it takes to back to your forum well basically for my links i wanna do it so they take you directly to the links. Thanks in advance for any help given!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that you have to enable HTML on your forum for this to work if not already enabled. You can find this option in your admin panel in "Users & Groups / User Options >> Allow HTML". Eventually, you have to enable this in your profile as well, for this go to "Profile / Preferences >> always allow HTML = YES".
