Click on "Administration panel"
Click on "Display"
Then Click on "Theme Version"
Then you will see "Change Version" with phpBB2 phpBB3 PunBB
So, there you go, choose phpBB3 that you like
Then click save

i like both versions, but if you want to really customize your forum, go with version 2. It allows more customization; (in my mind), and allows you to add more, and change the colors easier
