Vista theme.. Empty Vista theme..

Post by calmage September 11th 2008, 11:36 pm

After the CSS was changed recently, I had to reinstall the Vista theme I'd been using.

There are some things that aren't quite right yet like the task bar right under the forum header..

http://clarity.forumotion.com/index.htm

Some posters are only seeing red X's on that task bar, but I see a bunch of words jumbled together that are partially obscured.

Is there any way to fix that..?

Did you install the theme from Hitskin directly

=> Vista Theme

Also is it the same version?

Yes.. I did install directly from Hitskin.. from the same page that your link takes me to.

I did switch from plain Vista to Aero Vista .

Everything generally works fine other than the garbled task bar on the top of the forum page that is very hard to read.

I can't find any commands to change it on the Display page, so I think it's a CSS issue that is way beyond me.

if you just changed the theme then this might be the forum readjusting to the new skin. this might take a while to refresh but it might sort itself out.

A new glitch has developed.

Some members have no log in option showing , which is part of the forum task bar.. so they are posting as quests.

If they click on their name in the recent visitors list, they get a log in box. But there isn't one across the top of the screen and there is no log out option either once they get on.

Dragonfir.
I reinstalled the theme right after the CSS was upgraded and some twitches did sort themselves out.. but the log in option missing was in the last couple of days.

It actually looks as if you are using button images, Is this correct?

If you are using images for your nav bar that might be why there is issues

1. Log into your forum

2. Navigate to

Admin Panel\Display\Headers & Navigation

3. Open up each Nav link and replace the picture url with

https://2img.net/h/oi37.tinypic.com/mvr9tg.png

4. Then once you have done that select the option
"Display only images in the link bar " and select "No"

5. Press Save

This should now unscramble the text and should now show all the navigation options

Regards

Thank you Craig.

That worked great except for the private message link...
It keeps asking me for a menu name and then won't let me change it..

Hmmmmmmm

Try adding the link i gave in my previous post to one Picture url for the private messages

Then add the following link for the second Picture url

https://2img.net/i/fa/empty.gif

I honestly dont know why it gives that message, If that doesn't work try the link in this post on both picture url's

Thanks ...

Tried all the combinations Craig.

Each time I try to save the changes I get this message...

"You must to provide a menu name"

But the menu name option is grayed out and won't let me change it regardless of what I put in the "picture" boxes..

I don't know what's controlling the menu name box.. but it isn't me.. ;o)
