Banning Girlfriends usernames

i think it's getting abit silly now and making this forum look childish i think the admins should start banning them

it is an utter joke that this topic already has 30 posts...

but no joke this forum is not a big joke, but i respect your opinion.

For my views, I find it quite ridiculous, and would take action if I could. If these accounts turn out to be multi-accounts => standard procedure. Otherwise, there's not much I can do though

I noticed that _____'s girlfriend keeps popping up it drives me mad. mainly due to that fact if you were saids girlfriend you wouldn't call yourself ____'sgirlfriend its sad an irritating.

i think it ridicules to even think of banning girlfriend/girlfriends in user names.
honestly whats the big deal.

after all i seen hellboys999 girl friend here. and all she has bin was nice and helpful. if it's his girl and her man and that's what they want to do
then whats the big deal.. now of course if she was to get a lot of people hitting on her in her pm or being a Lil over sexual suggestive to her then that could be a problem.

but that can happen to any girl or guy no matter what there user name being.

my opinion is this thread is silly. unless it's an explicit sexual or raciest username being used. then i do not see what the problem is.

now if you one that dose not want to allow certain names on your forum well then that's fine. do what you want. but i can care less what members use as there user name.

i used to have a member names spitlube.. seen him in many other places too. at first i was like wha????? but hey no one ever complained about it. and he has always respected the rules and got along with everyone.
he would still be there but his account was deleted due to inactivity.
but always welcome back.

But why can't they do that with a normal username see say i wanted to state i was your girlfriend (not gonna happen just an example) I would not call myself darren1'sgirlfriend I would call myself Cherry_Blossom like i do on every site and maybe in my profile write darren1's Girlfriend.

Well, I don't think it's a problem. For example, why my username is "EricPires9"? Because it's my name. Or why is dragonfir731's username "dragonfir731"? Because he wanted an username that reminds him of "dragon fire". The same for "Someone's GF" (for example). She wanted this username because she really loves her boyfriend. And what about you, spook? Do this username remind you something? Of course, because everyone's username do so. My vote is "no".

Can't we just build a bridge and get over it? It's a username, not a multi-million dollar, life or death contract signing.

It would only be a problem if, for example, someone puts "EricPires9's Girlfriend" without even knowing me. Then, it would be a motive for at least an email saying "Your username isn't allowed. Please select another."

but if it's not you girl.. and you dont like it. then that changes things too.
i would think if it's not really the persons girl or boyfriend and they have it in there user name that they are. then it should be up to the persons that there claiming to be if they dont want to allow it or not. another words. if hellboy999 has a problem with it and it's not his girlfriend. then he should be able to ask that the user change there name. after all if it;s not your girlfriend or boyfriend and your real one comes in and See's that. well that can start a lot of unnecessary arguments between the couple and the members stating that they are there other half.

i still stand by the rest of what i stated though.

Well, I actually have to agree that most people only want to get attention or get the other person frustrated. But first the admin must know what's happening, not ban instantly. He should also give a chance to his member so he an change the username.

Just forget it. If spook insists on saying this, we won't be able to change his mind. If he will ban everybody on his forum, it's his problem! He will lose a lot of members and some more that may quit because their friends were banned.

If he wants so, let him do it. It's his forum and he is the owner. Let's just forget it, because it isn't something really serious, but with everybody here, it seems another thing.
