Re: Graphic Pads
The brand is not really important... the most important is to check what is the DPi and LPi of a model ... get it as high as possible .
Also the levels of pressure cannot be lower than 512.
I've got a pentagram o'pen XXL (size A4) which is no longer available ... And its just perfect... its got a high level of LPi and thats great.
The wacom intuos is good... apparently. (your second pic) but it depends on the work you'll be doing with the graphics tablet.
If you gonna make signatures for your company then a small postcard tablet is fine... for bigger projects and for general use its good to have an A4 tablet.
If you are going pro ... then you should invest in a cintiq ...
1000$ worth of technology but its worth it... I'd love to get it... but I'm pretty much unable to gather a sum of 1000$.

Re: Graphic Pads
jalo i will buy ya one if luckily my project that i'm working on gets successfull
its in development stage i will tell you about it later and its specially for you only..no joke!
cause if it work 1000$ is nothing for me ,...well I'm already rich so it doesn't matter but i can't use my funds for a undisclosed reason and this project tends to remove that limitaion for me and other like me!
so out of my profits i may buy ya one as a gift!
coming back to topic
ya tablets are a big role in our gfx life but one needs to be on a advanced level to use its full potencial me having a dicor i-10 have been not able to make full us of it so i'm working on my own skills with photoshop
and will wait till i reach a level on par with jalokim(i have only startedgfx 2 & 1/2 months ago!)
until then my tablet sleeps in its box in my closet

Re: Graphic Pads
I have and use a Wacom Bamboo One too
I'm not pro, nor do I intend on so it's fine, plus the price is more than affordable
It helps me alot in the small work I do and I advise everyone who can either draw or is interested in graphics because it's just that good
For those who're interested in graphics it allows you to do movements which on mouse are, let's face it, hard.
For drawers, it allows you to draw on the computer. No more shoddy scans

Re: Graphic Pads
The price was enough for me £30 you cant go wrong, i was intending it to be very simple and it wouldnt come with much, but hell was i wrong it came with somthing called art range two witch is the best drawing package ever and the pad isnt simple it reacts to how much pressure you put on the pen, just like a real pencil.
Overall i'd recomend it more than an expensive one.
GET THE BAMBOO ONE!!!

Re: Graphic Pads
I have wanted a tablet for ages but even more so since talking to jalokim yesterday, at the moment i dont even use a mouse just the little touch pad on my laptop.
ok here is a test for anyone that can help.
I would like a big tablet (A4 if poss) but for a cheap price as I don't have much money I want the best I can get for the smallest price. Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Graphic Pads
Cherry, what's your graphic level, or where would you situate yourself (beginner, intermediate, expert, jalokim-like)?

Re: Graphic Pads
erm i am not sure I can do quite alot but still have a mountain to climb I make skins and stuff i would like to say intermediate but a few may disagree
Re: Graphic Pads
Then I suggest looking at what Wacom has. I don't know if they propose an A4 model, but their models are quality-price friendly.
Also, for "just" skins, an A4 size isn't necessary, you can get away with smaller ones

oh and I don't "just" make skins I do allsorts that will just be the main thing atm.
Thanks caihlem

Re: Graphic Pads
I've heard about 'em but never looked into one. I've been doing my own graphics for awhile now, using PS7 and PSCS3, and admittedly, using the mouse is a pain. I assume that the pad hooks into a USB port? Will my PS program automatically pick up on that and integrate it to use together, or is there a separate program to purchase, as well?

USB Port
Your software accepts a mouse? Then it accepts the graphics pad
I don't know about all tabs, but the Wacom bamboo (and all Wacoms maybe?) comes with a mini step-by-step tutorial on how to use it and all. It also comes with it's own (mediocre) graphics software.
But it works like a normal mouse afterwards, so you can do as you please with it
