private forum part for staff help please?

hi,

What do i need to do for the setting to have -

We have a staff room but i only want moderators to beable to read and reply in there not normal users.
What do i need to do with the setting to do this? i have tried lots of ways but still normal users can read whats going on in there (although they cant reply.

what should the presets be on?? i have everything else in the permissions to mods?

Hi Claire.
Do you want your staff room also to be hidden from other members? In a sense it's completely invisible to other members..only you and your admin team will be able to see it full stop.


Go into your admin panel, then select "Forum" > "Forum management"

Then click on the "Staffroom" forum in your list of forums..

Scroll down the page and you will see the big list of permissions "Forum permissions control"..

In the drop down boxes next to all your options....select "Moderators" for all of them.

Only you and your moderators will now have access to your staffroom...

To make it completely invisible to all members apart from yourself and mod team..

At the top of the "Forums permission control" theres a tab called "Presets" again with a drop down box by the side of it..

You need to select... "Read & write : Moderators [Hidden]

Then click save

Your Staffroom is now invisible to members

Hello.

If you choose the "Read & Write : Moderators [Hidden]" preset, your moderators need to be moderators of the staff room to have access. If you don't want them to have moderators rights in the staff room, you set the permissions to "Read & Write : Private [Hidden]" and then, you allow access with the individual permission or with the group management (I advise you to use the group management for allowing access, it's easier to manage).
