Basket?

Hi, this may sound stupid, but what is the basket?

a basket is a place where unneeded threads or posts go... they are not deleted but send to a rubbish bin... you can make it so only admins see this basket... that way you can see what is being thrown out

OK, thanks. I think I deleted mine by acsident. What prefs do I have to set to make a new basket?

You aren't able to make a new basket (from what I know). I suggest you create a "Trash Can" forum where only staff can move locked topics, throw away trash, and ect.

you can make a new forum as suggested, called basket (or any other name!) and then in admin>>general>>>configuration, select the new forum as your basket and save.

If I delete something, will it go into the basket? Or do I have to move it there instead?

If you made a manual one (which you have), you'll have to move it to your custom basket and lock it (unless your "basket" forum is locked).

If you delete a topic then the topic will be permanently deleted and not sent to the basket. The easiest way to send a topic to the basket is either to click on the "Sent to Basket" button on your forum (depends on the current theme you have on the forum) or from the quick mod tools choose "Sent the topic to the basket option.
You can also use the Move topic option and manually move it to the Basket forum.
