Calendar?????

Hi everyone!

I am new here, first time creating a board of my own and need a little guidance. Most has been user friendly so far, however, I am having trouble with posting on the calendar.

First, I posted events on my calendar which also created new threads in my forum for each. I don't want all the topics in the forum, I just want to be able to look at the calendar and see what's doing that day... is there a way to post only on the calendar???

Second, when I went in and deleted all the topics that were added to the forum itself, it took the event off the calendar AND made it so I can not click on the calendar date to ad any new event. How do I get the calendar to work again and take an entry???

Hi there. Here is what I did to fix that problem.

I created a hidden forum that only I (the administrator) could see. In the forum, I posted events to show up on the calendar.

So, users will look at the calendar and see these events but there won't be any topics on the forum regarding the events because they will be in a hidden forum

Some users do post things in the calendar and it's okay to have the topics because some will comment on them... but for things like holidays and other observances, important dates... I put them all in the hidden forum only I could see.

Users still see all events on calendar.
