Is it Possible to Point My Domain to Your DNS (Domain Name System) Servers?

I am a total Newbie to hosting forums, so forgive me if I'm just ignorant here, but, I was quite surprised when I searched the term DNS on The Forum of the Forums and it was NOWHERE to be found. My experience with my other websites has been that Google and others DO NOT like it, i.e will not list you, if you are FORWARDING or MASKING one domain with another. Basically, the spiders will never read your true site and it will receive a poor rating. I would like to use my official domain name in place of the one generated by forumotion, but to do that by search engine standards I believe I would need to repoint the DNS servers to you. Or, is my only option a 301 redirect?

If you would please advise me on exactly what I should do in this case and HOW to do it, I would greatly appreciate it!
