Trouble with admin

Hello everyone!

I have a simple problem I think but I couldnt find the answer anywhere.

My friend who is the admin of the forum granted me admin but well I have no admin rights but I see admin title.

I checked to see if he made a group called "admin" and didnt give powers but there are no groups called admin at least I dont see any. And btw I am a mod too on the forum.

The Admin Group is Hidden?
Tell him to go to Admin Panel>>Users & Groups>>Groups>>Click the Admin Group then Modify it>>Click Closed Group>>Then add your name to the group.

This will give you the power to the Admin Panel.

He says he did it already and I have the shiny "admin" under my name in profile. but cant see admin panel and /admin url doesnt work either

Well the RANK (the shiny bar) is different than being added to the Admin group.
He should go into Users and groups>
find your user name>
Click on the permissions tab above your username
and the use the drop down menu for USER LEVEL
2 options are administrator or user.
he should assign the admin one and hit save

Try removing your name again and then putting it back but do this>>Admin Panel>>User & Groups>> Users>> Your Name>>Give the rank of Admin

Then Users & Groups>>Groups>>Admin Modify>> then put your name. This should work.
