How to hide the forumfroum a group?

User & Groups>> Groups>>Click your group you want to hide>>Then Modify>> Click Hidden>> This will make the Group Hide from the Legend.

No... I have writen bad... to hide forum from a user or group?

Click on the Forum you want and go to Permissions>>Then If you have made a group click on View, Write, etc... For the other groups just click the box so that you dont have the Cheak in them.

Look, I want all members to see the sub forum and one group not to see...

Make that group not to view and read, But the members will still read and view them. Just do the opposite of what im saying above.

In admin panel,
General>Forum>Categories and forums
Whatever the sub-forum's name click on it, then click on permissions tab.

Then follow mr mario's instructions of unchecking the option of view the forum, as well as other options for that specific group which shouldnt see the forum.

No... I cant uncheck a group without uncheching the other members...

Oh, i understand what you are trying to say. It is happening since a group has a higher value than the normal members. Someone, Correct me if am wrong.

huh... I have a problem that one girl is copying news from my site, and I want to hide it... not ban her...

Then, place her into a different group and then make sure she cannot see what you do not want her to see..

Did you actually try doing it? I was not able to do it either. I too was under the impression that it could be done this way. But it doesn't work, since groups are ranked higher than members. So if you select members to view the forum, automatically all groups also are allowed to view that forum.

Do you think, there is still some other way?

If you made an entirely new group, in which you placed new members and made different allowances, then that should work.

It works for me.

Same way as a Guest cannot see a Members or Admins area.. Just make a new group, give them their own set of permissions and place the member which you do NOT want to allow to see stuff, into that group.

It must work otherwise why can we be able to make new groups, AND give them all permissions of their own? if you want, you could use ranks, but it would be harder to do as youd have to set all special ranks and make non-special (if you use them) and then place the people with the set rank, into a group allowed to see that area.

Yes, thats what you have to make a new group called members just for this. Add all the members to it. Then it will work, but it would be great if it was possible to do it without making a group for new members.
