Problem assigning moderators

I followed this guide for creating "single member moderators" : https://help.forumotion.com/frequently-asked-questions-f5/designate-moderators-t16012.htm#85671

However, on step 7, after I click "Permissions", the following screen does not display and I do not have those options, so I can't assign moderators. Any ideas?

I just looked and out of those two images under the "Action" column, I only have the yellow wheel one, not the X/check mark one.

Originally, I had clicked on the "Permissions" that comes up as a heading, after I click on the username in the picture that you provided.

Did you exactly follow the instructions, by searching for a user & so on. Also, which version are you using, phpbb2 or 3?

I did exactly follow the instructions I posted in the link, yes. Not sure about the version. I actually just started this thing today, so I'm pretty new. If you can tell me how to figure out what version, I can have a look.

I created it from here: https://www.forumotion.com/ , the free forum option. but im guessing thats what everyone does, so i dunno.

Its the phpbb3 version same as the one i am using, still i don't understand why its not working then. It should have worked.

problem solved by switching to "advanced" mode!
