Visitor Message? Empty Visitor Message?

I hope this makes sense, i was wondering if it was possible to post a message in "Homepage Message" for visitors but as soon as a visitor signs up the message either dissapears or a new member introduction message is displayed. Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

u need a widget for that
admin panel >> modules >> widgets >> custom block
type the words there.. save it
then put it up in the right or left
then set the permission to guests only
