Advertising Empty Advertising

Post by BasicHunter December 27th 2008, 2:59 am

Hello -

I notice an option to turn advertisements OFF for everyone........though I don't have credits.

If I turn them off will my site get taken down? Do I need to leave the advertisements up? If I do - that is fine - I will do so - but if I don't HAVE to have them up - I would choose to take them down.

Thanks,

Hunter

no, you can take the adds off of ur forum.
if u take them off, nothing will happen.

It's just its the main way ForuMotion earns money, which is why we have them adds.

Advertising Reclamesitena2.th

Tis is what we saw at our (Dutch) Forum today !

I understand income of advertising is necessary.
But this is NOT OK !

We really aren't waiting for 18+ advertising..

I showed this aswell on the Dutch team, but wanted you here
to see this also..

So I wanted to report this as an abuse !

I'm really angry about this !

AND YOU, WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOGGED IN...

As everyone is a Guest untill they have logged in, this does not solve my problem. While I know that advertising is necessary and probably wouldnt mind it much if the forum was for adults, my forum (or potential forum !) is for age 13 to 18 members. I cant have them seeing advertising. It just wouldnt be right especially when I have no control over it.

So, what can I do ?

I see you can buy credits, but I doubt our organisation would do this as a forum is just an add on which we thought we would try. However it doesnt even tell you how much the credits are.

I need to know the facts now before I go ahead. I cant have a load of young folk signing up for a forum and then six months down the line we need to change to a new provider.

Do you have any answers ?
Thanks in advance.

I am hoping you can maybe make our forum and similar a special case - I can only imagine you benefit from advertising your service anyway by us using it and all our users may well go on and set up their own forums and their parents may do so as well.
