Red/Black Gradient Rank Images

I think I found a technique for designing my buttons.

These look a little different don't they? I found out how to adjust the color levels.

Eh.. don't like them at all actually.

• Way too big, the width shouldn't be much bigger than 100px.
• Really frustrating text. The font is decent but that colour doesn't fit at all. Keep it white instead.
Also, it's never good to combonate shadow to shadow. And with that I mean that both the button
and the text have drop shadow.
• The drop shadow is being cut off at the bottom.
• The button is boring to look at and uncreative since I've seen exactly that style so many times.

Thanks for your reply -- but then too, another man's garbage could be another man's treasure.

I was messing around with effects and came up with this. The point is my button doesn't have those ragged edges.

Oh yeah, these were a request and they actually like the width just as they requested. Just thought I'd share here.

Glad you understand. It's not that the button is bad but it's just not that original.

Waaaay too big.

As everyone else has already said, they are way too big to use as ranks. My ranks that I created (the space ones) were only 120px wide and I think about 30px high. That's normally my standard rank image size.

Very big but not bad... The colors are nice.

Yeah, way too big. And the red text on the red ranks does not go well at all.

Well, the requester loved it and states he wasn\'t using them for ranks. I did make the same comments as you guys did somewhat.

When it comes to ranks - yes. Bigger isn't necessarily always better.

I like if it were smaller.
