Option to merge the posts!

Yes i think this is some thing we can do with if some one makes say 2 or 3 posts we could add them all in to one post to save space and then maybe have a box like we have on the quotes sys. that way the members would see that the post was moved in to one post and make it look better and help mods.. i know when i have had to move posts to one its a paine in the ass and can take some time...

I suppose it could eliminate the look of a double post, but other than that, not quite sure. Even after merging it though, the double-posting user would still get the benefit of 2 posts added to their postcount, so it really is just a cosmetic thing.

I would like it because it would allow me to move individual posts from one thread to another. Right now it's all or one.

I had one person griping about something that wasn't in the proper thread. His gripe wasn't the issue. It was the wrong thread and he knew it. But I can't take his (and my) 4 posts and put them directly into the thread where they actually belong.

To change the poster's name, the posting time, and using this with copying posts will be easy to create a new thread with all of your contents under other posters' name, new posting time I suppose?

Texas, yes you can, I'm sure you can move a thread somewhere else. You can move singular posts to other places, so I think you can move a thread.

Also, for double posts, if they double post remove i and edit it yourself, what's the difference between clicking a bunch of buttons to make it move somewhere, or you can just copy/paste, and delete their second post, or if you don't like double posts, put it in forum rules that it's not allowed, and tell them to just edit it, and if they double post, they get a warning, there really is not much use for this.

I think this would be an excellent idea. When people double, triple, quad post it doesn't look that nice. I'd prefer to be able to merge the posts into one post and make it count as one post.
