How do I get rank text to dissapear in profile but not in admin panel?

Is there a way to have multiple rank pictures stacked ontop of one another WITHOUT the rank text. Also is there a way to hide the rank text without using

as this hides the rank text when editing user properties. I have multiple ranks and when I use Users&Groups => "username" => Set Rank the text is hidden so it is impossible to know which rank you are setting.
I have been searching the forums for a while now and i can't find the answer.
