Portal issues..
I am trying to add a portal to my forum. I got it all set up the way I want it to look, I hit yes to show the portal and when I got to the forum Home page I refreshed to see the portal icon at the top. I click on it and the portal is perfect, but when I close the board and go back the portal is gone!!
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks

Re: Portal issues..
link to your forum so we can see the issue.
Are you sure you clicked save to all the editing you did on the portal?

I have our forum private, I can't remember how to change that so you can see in it.

Re: Portal issues..
Hey
Remember that alot of people go directly to the index of the forum after adding the portal
The portal address will be slightly different
A ink such as
www.yourforum.forumotion.com/portal.htm
should direct users to the portal, This will be the case only for pre portal bookmarks
Also if you haven't cleaned out your cache & cookies then you might not have a refreshed layout which may display the older version of the forum

It will appear for you as it is for me. As Placehold said, If you haven't cleaned out your cache & cookies then you might not have a refreshed layout which may display the older version of the forum.

I'm sorry, I'm know I have to be really annoying. I did clear everything...and I refreshed the page. When I go back into the portal management, I have to reset it to yes to activate it every time. Shouldn't I have the word "portal" beside "home" on the home page? My members do, but I do not.
I'm so confused.
I'm thinking it might be easier if I just disable it again, but I read that it's a good thing to have.

Re: Portal issues..
This is driving me insane, every time I activate it to show index and portal icons in the address toolbar..it doesn't work. Everyone else has it but me. When I do get my other admin to do this it shows up until I have to close the page or go into the panel.
What could be wrong? I have cleared, rebooted...done EVERYTHING.
Grrrrrr

I use Fire Fox.
I can't use IE it's screwed up on my computer. I put the forum address in the address bar and it comes up all scrambled..and it won't let me type in any boxes to sign in anything.

Re: Portal issues..
I've tried your forum on Opera, Firefox and IE and everything is fine. The problem must be at your end. Maybe someone has an answer to this.

Its really weird because everything else works..I just can't keep the portal activated on my profile!
Thanks for trying.
BTW I copy pasted it in the IE address bar and tried it there and no luck.
It would be great if you could get in my profile and see if I messed something up..but it still doesn't explain why all my members are not having an issue...just me.

I'll be glad to help but as you say you're the only one having issues with this. You could PM Typlo or Caihlem and see if they can help.
