Re: New Member Notification
yeah this usually happens with me aswell.
You have to go to Administration Panel => User and Groups => Inactive user.
Then activate them
If you haven't activated them, they aren't an account:)

Re: New Member Notification
So, has your friend signed up to your forum?
And he's NOT appearing in the 'inactive users' list, correct?
Go to 'search users' and see if he is there

Re: New Member Notification
Go into his account, and go to the bottom of the page, and see if his account is ACTIVE or not.
If he is active, then he can sign into your forum
Also, check out
Admin panel >> Users & Groups(Tab) >> User options > User Activation > chose what one you want to use.
I hope iv helped out,
Darren.

Re: New Member Notification
I have checked all the options you have listed, His account is Active.
looked on the activation it says " new accounts activation " and Automatic Activation is highlighted.
Sorry for being a pain, but cant understand why he doesn't appear in inactive users new users column

Re: New Member Notification
ok, so ill explain some thing's.
in the admin panel, under 'inactive users' that is the manual way to activate a user.
When you have "Automatic Activation" a new user does not go through that part of the admin panel, he is automatically activated.
When a user is there in the 'inactive users' list it means that he/she has
A) Not activated their account via the link provided in the email (Under user activation)
OR
B) Requires Administrator activation (Under admin activation)
When a user is not there in the 'inactive users' list, it means the account is active, and they can log into the forum and make posts, PM's ect.
Has this helped?
Do you need it further clarified?
If you would like a quick run though of the Administration Panel, you could check out my Run through of the admin panel (Tutorial)
Also, you could check out the Frequestly asked questions & answers list for additional information.
I hope this has helped,
Darren.
Edit: were not allowed to double post
Edit 2:
I understand why you said why you said on your second post, however I believe we can explain things here, I hope

Re: New Member Notification
Yes, that......
That is a mystery in its self. I do get it on occasion's myself.
There is, no explanation to that, within my grasp of knowledge.
Sorry.

Re: New Member Notification
i guess i'll have to wait untill another user signs up to the forum to see if i get the same message. will let you know.
thank you very much for taking time out to answer my questions.
before i created my forum i watched many to see how they all worked and layout, one of the forums i was most impressed with had a list of catergorys like most forums do but say for instance had a catergory about motocross it said in brackets motocross ( 7 viewing) is there an option i can turn on for this to happen, would be nice to know how many people are actually viewing each catergory.
Thanks
Gav

Re: New Member Notification
You'll probally have to change versions for that. I don't think that's on ForuMotion thought, so I'm not sure.
