Members Deleting Own Post

Where do I go to enable members to delete their own posts if they so choose please? To give them the little grey x in the corner by quote and edit. I can't seem to find out how to do this.

Someone has told me they don't have one, I made a test profile which has one, so I am a little confused.

admin > general > forum - categories and forums > click on scroll down and click advanced mode > you will then see options - 'edit its own messages' 'delete its own messages' check the boxes required and save

You will have to repeat the process for each forum
