Adding Friend

hai, i have a few question regarding the friend and foes management. i've search the forums but still can't find the answer that i can understand

is the friend management similar to the one that facebook or myspace used?
if i add a friend, do he/she will have to approve it before they show up on my friend list?
if they approve my request, then what? i mean, what will change? what's so signifikan that i want to add another member to my friend list?

i've read somewhere that friend/foe management are having some troubles. but i just need to know this basic info to tell my members about it. cause recently i just activated the feature in my forum and finding a hard time to explain what's the feature will do

Yes- otherwise, you will be having strangers adding you left and right.

If the user recieves your request, they could either approve / deny it. If they approve it, then you gain a friend; if they deny it, then yeah..
It's not suppose to be very significant. All you are doing is adding friends.

Most of the bugs from the new updates have been solved by the new Express Update. There's not many problems anymore with the advanced profiles.
The Advanced Profile feature came with friends management, profile comments, direct contact, etc.

I think at least that is the way it appears to me, that now only friends can leave Visitor messages on your profile.

If someone knows differently, can you post ??

I'm not pretty sure. But I believe you are correct. However, I do think I remember a guest comment on someone's porfile comments.

you change the preference in your profile to set who are able to leave a comment on your profile

one more question though, will there be any notification if someone added me? or they will have to pm me?

I don't believe so. Just check in your profile (in the 'Friends and Foes' tab) to see if there is any new requests.
