View topics since last post?

I have been asked by a member:

I was just wondering a few things...........

1) When I click on "view topics since last post/login" (cant remember the exact wording right now) it only displays posts since I last actually clicked on it. So when I log in at some stage, I can see say, 10 posts, I click on one of them, read, reply etc, then go back to the unread lists, and most, if not all have gone. I hope I make sense, but this makes it hard to reply to all the threads easily.

2) Is there a way to have a permanent "view new posts" link at the top, instead of having to go back to the main forum page??

You can add a nav link on your nav bar if you want to.
either just the text or make a button for New Posts .

Click on the "view posts since last visit" and copy the URL

In Display>Homepage>headers and navigation> add customized menu>
fill in the fields.
for the redirect url = the copied URL of new posts
