My forum is banning the users for no reason

Ok i know i'm not going crazy but my forum is currently banning random people from out the blue. I mean one minute their talking to us the next their banned. And when i checked the admin panel there's no names there. I hope my forum did not get hacked by an outside IP but if thats the case how do i fix it. Please help soon because this is an annoying issue and it could get worse over time.
