Solved HACKER ATTACK!

Post by AirforceSS May 28th 2009, 2:51 am

My forum is being attacked constantly by hackers, it has become a hacking hotspot. How do I guard my site?
In one of the recent attacks, the hacker disabled the menu bar, I tried to re-enable it, but nothing works. Help?

just switch the skin to another one then back again.
unless you added your own then you will have to re up them in pic's management.

or if you give me the list of what you need and the link to the skin your using i'll get them for you

Maybe it would help to get ALL your staff to change their PASSWORDS to something LONG, and with letters and numbers. Tell them to keep the new passes to themselves . . . this is usually how these guys get in.

one thing at a time here.
AirforceSS wrote:Now I need advise on how to defend my site. How do I prevent this nonsense?
The best way to prevent a hacker is to only have administrators that you can trust.
also make your passwords large and complicated but to something you will not forget
and have your forums security on as well. hackers can not do nothing much if they can not access the admin panel. so large complicated pass words and having the forums security on is your best bet.

and never leave any passwords or user names in your emails either. always put them in a note pad. this way if a hacker ever gets into your email they will not see any passes or user names in there to try to do more damage to any other places or accounts you might have.

so thats a few suggestions. hope that helps a lil.
now what about the images do you still need them?

hmmmm...i know nothing of how to get that but i do know a site that can help keep track of all that for you as well as site visits and there ip adress to ban them.
SiteMeter is a free site to keep records of the visitors that have recently visited within the past few days...or within the last 2 years i use it on my forum and its easy to set up and there is little work to get it working...now if you are looking just for a way to just see there ip i cannot help you...
