Shout Box vs Chat Box

I think that a Shout Box would be a better feature than a chat box. With
the chat box, you must be logged in and its a live chat only. A shout box
means you can give a shout now, and it stays untill there have been 20 to
30 responses, and does not have to be live. I belong to many other forums
that use the Shout box feature, and it works out awesome.
I would much rather have a Shout box. Is it possible for me to have that
instead of the Chat box? Chat box is more like a Chat room, than good
forum communicator, that is there for those who come in at different times.

I voted no, because I love the chatbox, and it's very easy to find a site that gives you a code for a shoutbox. Perhaps it would be good if there was an additional shoutbox option, but not either/or.

Yes, I do agree, The option of one, or the other, or maybe even both for
those who choose, is the best.

I am very new at running a forum. I do belong to many, but this is the
only one that I manage. Any direction to find shot box codes, and maybe
a little direction on how to incorporate it into my forum, would be helpful
and appriciated. I will do what I can to find out what and where.

its good idea right now i am using shoutbox from other website and it is really stupid. you have pay for it. if not you can get for free in which you have to refresh and only 50 shout in 1hour. usally i anwer my members question like 15 minutes later lol as i dont refresh.
site chatbox nobody from my site ever want to use it as you have to click on login every few secound

i will stay neutral on this one..... i like the idea of a shoutbox... but i also like that u can have a conversation with members of your forum live... if they could remove the away timer and the timeout session timer in the chatbox, the chatbox would be to prefered... but to have both, chatbox AND shoutbox would be awesome!!!

Chatbox is mucj better than a simple shoutbox, if you want one added it to yout homepage...
