Unable to remove quick login box from forum

On my forum I have two login boxes one is the quick login box which is in the middle of the forum and the other login box is on the right which coming from the login widget.

I want to remove the quick login box from the middle of the forum and my understanding is that I go to
display/Generalities/general/Quick login display :
This was set to Top of homepage so I have changed it to do not display and then clicked save. But the quick login is still showing on the forum. On my test forum I can remove the quick login box and also move it to the bottom of the forum but on my live forum I can't move or remove the quick login box. Is this being locked by the skin? Or by the CSS?

Please help as the forum looks really annoying with 2 login boxes

Can't you just remove the login widget from the portal
Modules>Portal management
Click on the red cross of the login widget & hit save.

I prefer the login widget on the right and want to keep it I want to remove the quick login box as it also blocks the welcome message from non members.

I only want the login box on the right hand side. I turned the quick login box in the middle on by accident and can't remove it despite setting it not to be displayed. Is there anyway in the css that I can remove the quick login box or at least remove it to the bottom of the forum? This is my forum

I haven't got portal management turned on at all as I don't need a portal. (or do I?)

When I go into Display/generalities in the display box the 'quick login display' box is set to 'not displayed' but the quick login box is still appearing on the forum

Oh okay, sorry but the forum content will show the login box. Since you have the permissions set in such a way that guests, can't see the forum.
There is no way you could remove the central quick login box.

So if I change the permissions for the forum so that Guests can see a bit more I will be able to remove the central login box?

View the forum.

General>Categories and forums>Configuration
click on any forum name
Permissions tab
There you have to check for guests, view the forum.

Thanks Mate that's resolved it. Initially new members could see a welcome thread but I had deleted it and was using the welcome note instead.
