Firefox Issue
Good evening,
I think this is the best section to put it in, but feel free to move.
I'm having a problem on a forum that I administrate, I'm wondering if you could inform me if it's a phpBB2, a theme or forumotion problem.
It's a little hard to explain, but here it goes... when scrolling down to the bottom of the index page and going into a section near the bottom, after viewing and navigating back (via the browser back button) the page automaticly goes to the top of the index (instead of going back to the bottom of the page).
It's a problem that doesn't occour when using Internet Explorer (All versions) but has been reported by many of the forum members as occouring when using Firefox and I've only tested it on V.3.0.11 and the problem happens.
Hope you get what I'm getting at. You can see the problem on Fighter Control.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Firefox Issue
You sure this is for firefox as this is sounds like IE8
Placehold wrote:Hello,
Unfortunately because IE8 is relatively new there is a list of issues with the results but with all different causes which makes it harder to pin point the exact problem.
Does the issues resolve or subside if you select the 'Compatibility View'?
Using Compatibility View

Re: Firefox Issue
I'm not even sure if i am understanding him correctly?
He is saying when you go to a forum at the bottom of the of the index.
after being in that forum you go back to the index page then it goes to the top of the index page?
Do you mean the order how the replies are in a thread are you?
as you see here on this forum the replies go to the bottom of the page.
is that what you mean?

Re: Firefox Issue
Kirk he's talking about going to a forum at the bottom of the hompage and then using the back button and it goes to the top.
On here, help.forumotion.com , You goto the Trash, it takes you to the Trashed forums, he decides he wants to go back to the homepage, so he click the back button, instead of the scrren be centered on the trash topic it is now viewing the very top of the hompage.
Get it now?

Re: Firefox Issue
It must be something with them then.
Because i just went to his forum and clicked on the books forum.
then i clicked the back button and it went to the home page right where the books forum is. so it's not going to the top of the page for me.

Re: Firefox Issue
@MrMario - Nope, works okay with IE8.
@Kinko - Spot on, maybe I should have used an example too!
@kirk - It's certainly with Firefox, I've tested it personally (I've just checked it again and it's still doing it here), two of my fellow Admins have also reported it as well as the members.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Firefox Issue
have you tried clearing you r cache? if that doesn't work it most likely a FF issue and you can't fix it.
