Do I have to pay for advertising removal still if I buy the domain name? Empty Do I have to pay for advertising removal still if I buy the domain name?

Post by LouieWpHs04 June 28th 2009, 8:35 am

Was just curious as I was considering purchasing a domain name here as it's much less of a hassle then the place I was considering and I was wondering. If I purchased the domain name, what is the current price in USD per 100 credits? I was also curious if I bought the domain name, does that mean I don't need to pay for the advertising removal? Or even with the domain name i'll still have to pay for the advertising removal every so often? Oh, one last question. If I purchase the domain from here n' such, can I completely remove the links at the VERY bottom of the forum that say free forum and whatnot? I think I read somewhere that I can upon purchasing the domain name but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks for the help in advance, kind of important questions. I couldn't really find an answer anywhere I read.

Hello,

first of all, please ignore the spam around me, just report it and let the mods do their job Wink
(its getting normal and very annoying!)

1) The price of ur domain is in ur admin panel, under the purchasing domain section.
2) you have to pay for the removal of adds, and if u brought it once, it will last 12 months (i think its 12 months)
3) No, you cannot remove those things, if u remove them then ur forum can be closed down.
-Such a trivial reason I know ...

I would rather lend a hand than report spam, so thanks for popin in, and please report the spam, and ignore it.

1.)Well, from what i'm seeing the price is "1600 credits" which doesn't help me very much when I don't know what the current USD price for 100 credits is! I'm sure I can find it somewhere but it was and still is late so i'm too tired to look properly. Mind you, I did look but for some reason I couldn't find it anywhere.

2.)I understand how the AD removal system works, I just don't really get why we would have to continue to pay it even if we bought a domain name. If that's the case it isn't a big problem, really. I was just wondering. Can someone answer this for me? I dunno if he answered the general question or not the way he formed his answer. The question being and i'll restate, "If I was to buy a domain name, would I still be required to pay for the ad removal as well?"

#3:Oh, well it's not too big of a deal really. I was just curious. I'm surprised we wouldn't be allowed to remove them them though if we had purchased a domain name. I get the whole, before factor being that it's a free forum, though. Can a staff verify what he's saying? Just another reiteration of what I was asking, "Are we allowed to remove the links on the bottom of our forum pages after purchasing a domain name?"

Oh, P.S. I reported the post. Hopefully it's dealt with early so it doesn't disrupt the staff from helping me out with my questions 100%. Very Happy

My answers are correct, and have been for the last ...... umm?
Since I have been helping people here (which is way over 6 months)

As for Q2, you save to pay for them separately.

and Q3, if u remove them, and ur cought out you lose your forum, so thats also correct Wink

The first staff member to arrive will have about 100 posts to remove so their gonna be a tad busy.

Thanks a tonne for reporting the post too.

Still haven't had #1 answered, =/. I'll probably be looking a little later today through searches to figure it out.

#2: So even after buying the domain name, I would still have to pay for advertising removal is what you're saying? Meh.

#3: Well i've seen numerous forums that have removed them after purchasing their domain name so that kinda' threw me off which is why i'm thinking you're wrong, or a lot of people's forums are in jeopardy.

and yeah, it only took me a minute to report it so it wasn't that much of hassle. I think I picked a bad time to ask questions considering everyone's probably gone on vacation for July 4th, eh? haha, =p Still need all the answers I was given confirmed by a staff as it gives me personal assurance. Laughing

2.
Buying a domain name and ad removal are two different packages to purchase. So in other words, you have to buy them individually. They don't come in a package altogether. Wink
