How did you discover Editboard?

Hello everyone.

I open this topic, because it's always interesting to know how the members discovered Editboard.

Is it by a friend? By a Google search? Just tell us

Me? Well, I discovered Editboard on September 2004 when I wanted to create a personal forum. I was already on two phpBB boards, ans so, I wanted a board which is similar, so I asked the administrator of one of these two boards for info and he told me about Editboard (which its original name is Forumactif, because it first started in French). Even if I had the "typical difficulties of the nOOb" to start a forum (it's always harder with the first forum because we have no experience), I learned about the features of forum administration and I began to help people on the French support. And also, I met people with whom I discuss regularly on MSN.

One year later, when this English board started, I registered here, and a few days after, when the first team was formed, I was named moderator because of my experience, Tristou knows me well because he was formerly a moderator on the French support for a long time.

Last winter, while I was having a dark period where I had some bitterness towards the Editboard team, I tried to go on a support forum of another forum host where me and two other people were starting a project (we had to abandon it because of conflicts between members), but I didn't have the same feeling than on Editboard. I didn't feel at home and I soon came back on Editboard. And on the French side, I became a member of the forum team as a Helper.

And now, it's going well between me and the team.

I was on a forum about the same thing as my one now. The problem was that the admins had made it that you needed them every time and that they never came. I then found out by another member that he (the member), had his own forum, that they were remaking it and that he'd like me to come as an admin (apparently because he knew I had experience and had good ideas). Unfortunately there was the same problm of admins (expet me) coming. The main admin said he'd give me the forum. So I completely redid the forum, had comme other admins and was starting to have success. Unfortunately I coudldn't get rid of the owner. One day (god knows why), he decided to come and delete his forum. That's when I found Editboard. I was able to re-create my forum (which is working fine now). I joined to be able to avoid having huge technical difficulties and to be able to help those whom i could help.

Epilogue: The original forum closed for lack of members who all left to come to my place or simply go away. The main admin of my former forum created two more forums, which closed because he's incapable of doing anything right. My forum is one of the top 20's for Manga

well i discovered forumotion.com because i wanted to make my very own forum, so i searched it up on google and you guessed it there it was

So now i have my own forum in which i can help people on a few things that are really fun to do.

Well I don't think you did dear Katt, 'cause I've never seen this subject here before.

Maybe you think you did ..... but in fact no. It does happen to me as well, sometime. I post things right where I am, without remembering that it's not the right heading. But mistakes does happen, and there is nothing to be a shamed of.

But I cant remember how I came here, I think Katt came along on the french version and told me, "why wouldn't you come and join us on the english side" ? That was quite a long time now, and I said yes. That's why I'm here today I suppose. Thanks to Tristou that Trust me.

No peter, Katt wasn't mistaken. it WAS here. As proof, I posted my answer when it was here. i haven't got the faintest idea where it was in between, but Katt has posted it here.

Hello !

I discovered editboard in 2004, with a friend. We wanted to create a Rayman forum and we didn't knew how to do it. We started with lesforums.com, but it wasn't very nice... In the RaymanZone, the official rayman forum, an english member had an editboard forum ( he was bilingual, of course ) and after looking the options of editboard, I create my forum, the Raymania. After a year, I deleted my forum because it wasn't very active...

Ps : I'm sorry for the mistakes and my english, but I try to post understandable post...

I discovered Editboard byu reading a topic in the french version.
The topic said this forum needed moderators, and that it'd be better if the moderators spoke both French and English (to keep in touch with the french version ^^), so I came here

I discovered Editboard on the a french board named laposte.net in June 2004. I created a board, and another and one day a discovered the french support board.

I discovered Edit board by the french Support board. Some one of you have view my capacities in English ... ... And is for it I went on this board. I want to learn English with pepeole who talk english in the reality. You can correct me when you want. You juste can help me. In Québec, when you are bilingual, your salary increase (???). Because it, I want to be more good (goodest ???). I hope You understant !

me I had seen that on the forum support in French one about that englais some then I spoke was on www.forumotion.com I typed “/en” after this and I arrived on the directory englais which gave a bond towards the forum support englais.

I did a little gooogle searching for free forum hosting. Then, i found forumotion.com


After finding forumotion.com, I used bravenet to create a whole new community with my friiend's forum.


It's amazing what you can do with forum host these days

Oh Ive discovered it while going to administration panel its always above.
