Screwed Up FAQ Empty Screwed Up FAQ

Post by Cman July 5th 2009, 2:52 pm

Below is my FAQ listing. If I click on on of the links under login issues block, it opens an answer from the other block. What the heck happened? I need this fixed; I do not have template editing.

It is your skin most likely, you'll have to re install your skin and then tell us if it is stille acting up.

what everyone is trying to tell you is that it appears to be a skin issue.
unfortunately there are some skins out there that do not work correctly or have glitches. so the only thing you can do is have a skin that works.

well like he said. i have tested the skin on my test forum and everything was working fine.i even gave him the template codes for the faq from my original skin and that did not help either.

so i am not sure what the problem can be? i will pass this on to typlo to see if he can request a tech to look at it. in the mean time anyone else have any ideas?

Not the browser, I tried it on my many, I'm getting exactly what he said. seems to be a theme / skin glitch with it, as others have mentioned.

Kirk and I spent hours in the support room, testing different forums, different, versions, different styles. I don't think it would be the skin. Thanks for replying guys.

You need to re upload the skin from hitskin. It looks like there is a CSS problem. It won't take long to put everything back and I don't see much stuff that makes it hard to imput back.

[ Several javascript links open incorrect items due to duplicate ID's in the FAQ page code ]

  • "Login" item "Why can't I log in?" opens "Other" item "What are the limits?"
    Both are listed as: faq_a_13
    Spoiler:

  • "Why do I need to register at all?" opens "Why can't I log into RocketOn?"
    Both are listed as: faq_a_14
    Spoiler:

  • "Why do I get logged off automatically?" opens "Why are some of the profile fields bold and underlined?"
    Both are listed as: faq_a_15
    Spoiler:

  • "I've lost my password!" opens "How do I delete a personal note?"
    Both are listed as: faq_a_17
    Spoiler:

  • "I registered but cannot log in!" and "Why does Just Corbin pages show up wierd?"
open "How do I delete a personal website note?"
All 3 are listed as: faq_a_18
    Spoiler:

  • "I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!"
opens "Why do Just Corbin pages load so slow, how long do I have to wait?"
    Both are listed as: faq_a_19
    Spoiler:
Note sure if a reinstall would help. Renaming ID's will fix it... or create a new FAQ.

The code is too long to post here...
Replace what you have with *this. Or create an Html page with it (use your forum
header + footer and update your links) ID numbers have been sorted: 0 thru 48

whoaaaaaaa! that site you linked to is a red site on McAfee site advisor. It said it links to a site that causes browser security breaches. so be careful when going to linked sites.

http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/sendspace.com?version=2&core_ver=1.0&pip=true&premium=false&client_ver=2.9.258&client_type=IEPlugin&suite=true&aff_id=370-9&locale=en-us&os_ver=5.1.2.0

(loads slowly)

anyway....
That helped a little bit. These following links are opening the wrong answers:

What are the limits?

How do I prevent my username from appearing in the online user listings?

How do I post a topic in a forum?
