This is annoying

I made Catagories. Then I changed the template, then My catagories were gones, but still in the General>Catagories & Forums. Can I get them back?

Do the categories show up on ACP? If yes then you might have to add a forum to it. If they don't show up on ACP then you might want to create a test Category and forum and see if they show up. I hope that made sense. >.<

As stated by the two users above, you need to have a forum attached to your category in order for it (both) to appear on your forum's index. Always remember that discussion forums are attached to categories; not vice versa.

Are you sure you are using the write login information?

If you can't login successfully, your best bet is to contact 'Typlo' via PM here on the support forum. He's part of the administration and he has the power to fix this for you.

Ok, I backed it up, it didn't help at all. I can't even delete them catagories to start over, because I have to delete all forums.

Actually, if you delete the category, I believe it will allow you to move all discussion forums, sub forums, topics, posts, and content to a different section. If that does work, then you can create a new category, and move/attach all of the moved pre-deletions back to that category (if it works, that is.) You might would want to try that.

Display>Structure & hierarchy
Split categories on index:Medium
Save.
