Chat Box kicks members repeatedly Empty Chat Box kicks members repeatedly

Post by Treble July 23rd 2009, 6:22 am

Hey, so I just made a forum, got some members, yadda yadda. I've noticed that there are a couple members that have to refresh the chat box constantly, they are also repeatedly getting kicked, and having to reconnect. Is there a way I can fix this, or is this a problem with the chat box in general, or is it their computers?

There has always been glitches with the chat box time to time.
as far as the refresh thing . this is a misconception and is actually they way it should be. this is the first that i am hearing members being automatically kicked.

the best thing to do is to try to disable and enable it again. or move to the top or bottom of the forum then back again. sometimes i will just disable it for a day. Usually the chat will fix it self but unfortunately glitches tend to return time to time.

there are alternatives though. you can find a lot of free chat box\'s to incorporate to your forum and use them if the forums chat is not for you?

xat or stickam are is a very popular and widely used on forums and are free.

http://www.stickam.com/liveStream.do

hope that helps a little
thanks

Hello,

That was supposed to have been corrected ...

The only thing I can really suggest, but I don't think it will work is to clear your cache & cookies.

Also, if your on Internet Explorer, convert over to something else, such as Firefox and/or Google Chrome, as their the best of the best Wink

yea.
well i don't know i never have had any real issues with the forums chat box. but many others do. but there are other chat boxes you can add to your forum for free.
i use xat stickam and the forums chat.

and the techs know there are still glitches but i don't think as many people are getting them as a few months ago when it went a lil haywire... lol

mwii This is the first case of this since the last (non express) update .....

The other non-forumotion chatboxes' are quite a good alternative, and generally more tools than what the default forumotion chatbox have.
