Board Misaligned

i hope the screen shots help, my board is misaligned in IE (but not in FF)

-> in IE the entire board is forced to the left.

this goes for the entire layout while in Internet Explorer

it should look similar to (when seen in FireFox):

* any ideas ?? * on how to correct for this in IE ??

As seeing your forum has custom css/templates, this would be the problem
Some css codes are not supported by IE... actually quite alot because most have hacks they will work on IE

Take an example of my forum
Im coding it with css3
Only firefox3+, chrome and safari are supportive on css3
Soon also opera, they are making a hack for it.
My forum would look like this in firefox:

Hello Jac.

I looked at your HTML code with Web Developer toolbar and I see errors : <html> and <head> are opened twice, and closed only once, so there is one <html> and one <head> tag which is not closed.

I marked with a  where the second header starts in this code below

And so, as I could see, you kept your templates, but you toggled to phpBB3 version for which template editing isn't available.

Also, you might want to try pasting your code into Adobe dreamweaver or another coding program.
They will indicate the tags that are not nessensary in black ( alteast in dreamweaver)
This way you will be able to prefent any other display bugs

EDIT: See that dreamweaver does help?

thank you Cornelia and Lil- J,

the current theme i am trying to correct and the images shown are using a phpBB3 template, and had almost no variation in FF or IE.

i tried to close the <head> <html> tags as you advised, but still the
errors persist and that's just it. if i remove the homepage html header all together, the forums themselves are still misaligned.

that's what confusing me. i changed nothing in my css or homepage configuration since mid last year and even when i try to start completly over, i have tried to change back to phpBB2, even add a fresh new template direct from forumotion, nadda.. everything is still misaligned Sad

Mmmm... Start using PunBB
Take care you start with the default theme and that redo all you did but now check it so you are sure you wont do anything wrong.
I know, it might take 2 days of time but in the end it will be worth it

btw, can you PM me the script for that navigation on the left please? i need that script Very Happy
