Help! Problem with Reply/Text Box not showing!

My forums is phpbb2 type.. Everytime i use operamini (any version) the reply box often doesnt show.. Is there a way where i can edit the code of the reply box and create a new code for it in the templates? Because my created html page also has a reply/text box and i dont see any problems on that particular box.. I hope someone could answer.. And i hope that there is a way where the reply box would function properly..

Hello, your problem is that you are using the Browser "Opera" i too had this problem just switch to FireFox or IE

Well, there's another reason, Forumaotion doesn't work good on phones.

Well, i just hope that theres a way where i can edit the template for the textbox and replace it with a mobile phone compatible textbox..

I don't think there is i bleieve you might need database access for that.

there you have it. there are a lot of sites to witch the phones don't work correctly.
But you said you have a reply box in a html page that is working fine. so just take that code and edit it into your template and see if thats any better. or just take all the codes from the template out,hit save,click publish then go back and add the default code? may be it got messed up somehow.

Anyone who knows what template to edit and what part of the template to change? In here, (the forum support) the reply box functions well.. Why is it in our forums, it has that problem?

Mobile/cell phones are not really compatible with forumotion forums, hence why you have this problem.
You cannot edit the quick reply box to make it more "mobile/cell phone friendly"

But why is it here at the forum support, the textbox functions well? What type of forum is used here? Do you know what template to edit for the reply box?

do you have the link to your html page with the reply box in it.
i just need to see it first. and what version are you using.
are you using phpbb2 or punnbb if so then we can try to edit it in the template.
but this is still a long shot and i am not sure if it's going to work.
but if it is working on your html page. then technically it should work.
but i am going to need the code forum the html page so i can test it to make sure it's coming up and working. but as far as saying it's going to work with the phone. i wont know until your able to test it if we are able to get the code where it belongs.

interesting? so now you want to try to get this as a reply box for threads/post correct.
And are you using phpbb2 or punnbb?
oh hey yopu know if i am unable to get it as a reply box in the threads.
you can still add it to your footer to show up on every page.
the thing i am confused about is even if i was able to get it as the reply box for your threads. i don't think it will work like the forums reply box as far as answering what ever giving thread your on.. not sure let me test it.
i will see if i can get it to work.. but it's a long shot.. i will try though.

i actually think it's better at the top but thats up to you.
Here's what you do. if you have phpbb2 or punnbb. you never told me. so if your using one of these versions then you got it.
Admin panel>display>templates>general
Scroll down until you see (view topic_body) Topic messages.
Click on the little orange gear icon/actions take out the code thats in there and past the code below in there and hit save.
after you hit save scroll back down and you will see a green + sign(publish)
click on that. andnow you will have this text box at the top of every topic/thread.
the forums reply box is still at the bottom as well for members not useing the text.
i do not know how that text thing works. i guess you get it on your phone.
so let me know how you make out thanx.

Thanks kirk.. Youre the best.. I'll try this as soon as i get on my PC.. I am using phpbb2.. I'll try both.. I'll check if this is what i was looking for.. I just need to change the reply box so that i can post using OperaMini 4.2..

i think there is a misunderstanding.. i only want to know how to edit the replybox.. i think it has an autoresize form.. but if i can make it fixed or have a standard size, it wont be a problem anymore.. here is a photoshopped version of what i want it to look like..

You can edit the "Message box" with Css...
But what about your members being forced to use a mini message box
