Google Translator Empty Google Translator

Post by dotDavid October 3rd 2009, 2:21 pm

Hi,

I propose that in the widgets column, we place a Google Translator for users that are more comfortable with another language, but don't have an official support forum to help them in. This is the translator link: http://translate.google.com

I have seen time and time again users not really understanding other's posts so then we go and look in the official support forum's list, but there isn't a forum that can help them. This would be annoying as the meaning is lost in direct translation, but using this online translator, it can help reduce any confusions.

I have tested it on some languages and it has proven effective. Hopefully this can be implemented. Any comments?

Thanks.

ETA: This is a list of all the languages it can translate into and back:

Hello,

It seems that google translators are not really effective enough, TT

If anyone would like to translate a forum to the language they desire, then they can download one, and use it to translate.

Also, this will not help members when posting in the forums, because if they would like to post, they have to create the message, then translate it using the tool, then there are some errors in the text because google translator isn't really effective...

By the way, I think when using G.T, it re-directs you to google, then you'll just see like a frame of this website & the translated content, or something like that, tongue

Hi Marc,

I believe it has been updated to make it more reliable. Also, I've seen it active on large forums and they do happen to work. Also, you can get it so it doesn't redirect to another frame.

Hello,

Posative

It has the potential to help the 5% of non-english users Google Translator Icon_razz lol

Negative;
The chances of failure with language translation's is incredibility high between non-major languages, such as french => English or visa versa.
And the chances of this actually being used among the 5% of potential users?
Wont even be near 1% Google Translator Icon_wink

So, im voting no, although it is a great idea!

Now, why is jalo's net playing up, we need his sarcasm here Google Translator Icon_biggrin

EDIT: Marc, I have a tut to add a GOG Trans => https://help.forumotion.com/tricks-tips-f32/translator-on-your-forum-t52771.htm

Can't we just manually do it ourselves?
