Background issue!!

so whenever i wanna use a background it shows it from the middle only n the sides are only the selected color so what i want is to have a background that appears behind the whole forum even on the sides so what should i do to solve that????

whats the image?
it is most likely not the correct size?
and are you using css or the regular way

oh it is no matter what i used n how large it stays the same!!
