Contact Fields won't display

Contact Fields i.e. website, icq, yahoo, skype, etc... keeps deleting, and will not display on profiles or message, including custom contact fields. After the user enters the info and saves, the fields will be deleted automatically.
While I am on the subject, is it a glitch that url icons do not appear for text field based Profile Fields (not Contact Fields), or is that how it is meant to be?
Please note, I have searched recent posts for these problems, but could not find any similar enough that would help me.

EDIT*
I apologize for this post. I just discovered that Contact Fields do not permit information with spaces, and that is what causes the info to become deleted. There are no warnings or error messages stating this, so it wasn't exactly the most obvious thing to figure out.
