I'm glad you noted us that they are not done yet... Because if thats the final product...

Blugh! I'm gradually vomiting! You have a few medications that I need to survive. That is metaphorically saying that you have aspects that users on our forum like. Here are some tips...

♣ You need a better font
♣ You need another digital image manipulation program. If you are planning on freeware, I suggest getting Paint.net!
♣ Most people these days like gloss to literally "spice the moment up".
♣ You must have the willpower, the admiration for art.

Anyway, zeldaman, nice try. I see that you have a long way, and what you need to do is to slowly pinpoint the "errors" you made. Now, some may say you haven't made any errors. Some will love it, but I can say there will be many who don't. Just a few things to look at:
-Font
-Shape and size
-Design/patterns
-Color scheme

Have a look here: https://help.forumotion.com/navigation-bars-f54/ These are ones that have been selected into the official gallery. Look how the font, size, shape, design etc has aesthetically worked together.

Good luck in the future. Maybe a few tutorials may help you.

Apologies, but this looks like something you whipped up in MS paint.
The font looks obnoxious, and your colours seem to clash badly. That shade of blue is pretty blinding.
Like KoolK mentioned above, you might want to give paint.net a go. It works pretty well.

It's okay dis all ye want, I am new to making stuff, and yes I did use ms paint, but that is only because I didn't know what else to use.

That wasnt nice, at lest hes trying. Not every one is born with the graphic designer talent. It may not be the best design i seen but you are taking the time to make the best you can and thats what i admire, keep it up..... and noooooo it isnt that bad to vomit about!!!!! Just keep trying..

for everyone else, critism is ok but dont use negative one!!!! the best way to make some one progress is by supporting them and giving them that push on there self esteem... please dont be mean it hurts people fealings..... Soon no one will want to sumit theres fearing the negative comments.

Yes i like the new one you have made better, but the background looks green...need to add more stuff to it.
Ill give you a 4.5/10 for the ones you made on MS Paint.

From the second image , i could see lots of changes . But , try to Train yourself I could see that you have put an effort into it . So , keep it up , and dont worry about other rude comments . If they say they want to vomit , then they might have H1N1 , just leave them . Im sure you have the Spirit of Designing . Just you didnt have the proper Software

the key to making a great graphic is adding a 2d effect... add deap.... shadows and spot lights, use gardients and filters.... try downloading the photoshop free trial! Ill help you alot... and i agree strongly with kml...

Do not worry about other people's rude comments, at the end...if you like it then thats what you should care about.
Example: If you like working in a job which some other people don't like...would you work there or not? YOU LIKE IT!

I humbly apologize for my previous comment. I know that I was un-supportive and irresponsible as a loyal member of the Forumotion Forums. And I am here to give you good compliments, and not harsh comments.

♣ The size is too big. If I were to add that to my forum, my forum would have to be a Gargantuan size to hold it, and also uses people's bandwidth if they were to personally upload it.

♣ The font is bad choice, not many people tend to use Scripts and Signature fonts, so I advise changing your choice of mind. People prefer sleek, bold, nice fonts.

♣ Plain green with a black outline will not get you anywhere, no-one will use a simple design like that. You need to spice it up and bring graphics to a new level. Embrace the modern feeling.

♣ It is way too choppy, all the lines are dotted and are not a good addition to a design here on the ForuMotion Help Forums. So I advise that you remove these lines with high precaution.

♣ The light yellow color with what supposedly seems to be a red gloss will not impress anyone. As a matter a fact, the plain green navigation bar would be what people prefer.

♣ People prefer sleek, bold designs that embraces the feeling that their forum contains professionalism, thus you must design like a professional art. It does not take too much to impress someone. Here is an example of a sleek design...


Little do you know, there is a white outline on that.


♣ Overall, I think you're improving every minute you work on art. And that should be the same for everyone, even if they think they've finished their prospering journey.

although i use MS paint for all my graphics i dont think you should use it

try using Adobe fireworks or paint.net

Doesn't matter, this is not a show-off area. Its area where you propose your graphic work, which should be accepted in Graphic Gallery where everyone can use it on their own forums. Propose images YOU would like to see on your forum TOO, if you aren't satisfied with what you have made, dont propose it.
