How to stop playlist stopping everytime a page reloads Empty How to stop playlist stopping everytime a page reloads

Post by figo-d November 24th 2009, 2:12 am

Hey, i am helping my friend set up a forum for music and i wanted to put a playlist on it, i can get it up and running ok, but evertime it reload to another bit the playlist stops and the song has to play from the start again.

Is there anyway to stop this and keep the music player running all the time. got the music player from http://www.imeem.com/

I like hardcore music so i go onto this site http://www.hardcoreradio.nl/ at the side there is webplayer, i am not sure if i would be best getting something like that instead.

Hopefully someone can help, am new to this kind of thing, just so you no, lol.

You can but it is tricky, you could make your homepage have iframe on it and then put the playlist somewhere else so you don't have to refresh the page.
You'll get it once you try it.

But when you refresh the page, the iframe will also be refreshed. I don't think it is possible.

Wait i'll try and explain more clearly Go to the html page management and start wih a blank page. Then get the code for iframe, make it the whole borser wide and make it go to your normal homepage. Make the playlist invisible and put the code on the html page. Save it and make as your new homepage.
Is that easier to understand?

What will you put into the iframe? The music player or forum index?

Make it a pop-up player...
The best way to continue listening to music while
you browse a forum is to have pop-up music players.
Like the games and players I have on *this web site...
Post your player code & I'll create a pop-up version to try out.
You'll be able to have more than one player/style and it will allow
the visitor to choose what music to play -or not play music at all.

Thanks for the code Very Happy

Now you need to create an HTML page via Admin CP > Modules > HTML Page Management > Add this code there and save the page.

Now, you should make a link to pop the player. Go to Admin CP > Display > Generalities > Homepage Message > Add this code there and save...

Code:
<p>
<a href="#" onclick="window.open('LINK TO THE HTML PAGE YOU JUST CREATED' , 'popup' , 'width=350,height=500,left=150,top=150,scrollbars=yes'); return false">Click Here</a>
</p>

Hope this helps Very Happy

You need to navigate to your Administration Panel.
Then go to the 'Modules' tab where a link saying 'HTML Page Management' is found. You need to click it and create a new HTML page there.

In the HTML page you need to add the music player code.

Hope that makes sense.

Nothing will happen right now as we haven't finished yet.
Once done this, you need to make a link in your forum that will open the music player.

I'll explain it after you make the HTML page and make sure it opens and works properly.
