Posting Points and user titles

OK this is my first post on this forum so i hope it's OK. Why not have Posting Points? With each topic/thread view, you get 1.00 points, with a reply you get 5.00 points and with a new thread/topic you get 15.00. Than you can use those points to buy awarness ribbons or give gifts.

Than for my second idea there should be custom user titles/rank titles. If you get 1,000.0 points you can make your own unique custom user title/rank title.

Well, user titles and shop systems with currency have been suggested before, though I would like to say that instead of making the point system to give out points accordingly to how forumotion has it set up, we should be able to change the ammount of points awarded for each new post, view, topic, reply, and vote. Your suggestion is for the member's sites, so set points for certain sites may very well be relatively worthless depending on the standards or how many members each site has.

It would be nice to have all those things.

On another forum host (which uses phpbb2) I cuould create cash and shops. I miss that.

I really think that this is a very good idea, that's why I voted YES. I really hope this option will be enabled in the future.

The admin could get points to get a shop for forum enhancment,

the Other members could get points for...Well I suppose that could be up to you guys to decide, right?

I do believe what WithTheDawn is thinking of is a money system, like a forum currency, now I must say that it's a good idea to have it but it's also avalible to free forums like setbb and such more, and I'm willing to give an example.

AXA has a forum currency witch is called bells because the forum is about animal crossing.
And they would name a forum after there currency, and make a forum shop where you can buy stuff such as username or prices from 500-5000 bells from stuff like 3-month rank to permanent rank, and other places on that forum would be like shops that users made called signatures and avatars, animations, and even people would make up something never thought. There was more than that some users would make up there own game such as werewolf or something and sometimes have a fee to join and who ever would win would jet how much was donated to the pot.

Now as far as I know the only way to get a forum cuffency on a phpbb3 forum is to but the forum.

Now I'll post what options there are for a setbb caash mod in the admin panel.

You can have and name up to 3 currencies.
You can make an image for it so instead of saying you have earned 1 gem for this post it would just show the image and all 3 currencies would not be the same you can make one have more value like 1 orb can be exchanged for 50 gems or the other way around you can also choose how much of what currency you get for posting and messaging and making a topic and people can donate to each other and you can also choose what forums you can get anything in, but unfortunately it's only for a phpbb2 forum.

Phpbb3 has a mod for only one forum currency but its called simple points but you can only install it if you bought the forum.

Now I hope this has cleared it up for you it has already been invented, but If our free forums had this it would be the best.

Reason being is that i have had all that...the works. shop, bank, lottery, points of course, jobs and more. They are extra features...but i foudn they didnt really add anything extra at all. It caused a hell of a lot of competition between members, made new members feel uncomfortable etc, some complained it was too easy (those that posted a lot) others that it was too hard to get points....i moved to edit board without all these fancy things, and what i have is a community, that dont need any enticement to post. perhaps if i ran a different type of board, like an RPG yes this would be useful, but for me, i say no.
