Link to my website

I am having trouble figuring out how to add a link to my physical website for my forum visitors. I have gone through the admin panel and added a custom navigation menu, but when I put the website address in the redirect url box, it saves the following link.

http://texas9man.forumotion.com/welcome-to-the-texas9man-forum-f1/www.texas9man.com

I simply want it to go to www.texas9man.com

Also, if I don't add a picture, it shows the text that I titled the link as, which is fine, but it also shows a red x in place of the image. How do I get that to go away.

How do I do these seemingly simple tasks???

Great that worked, but now how do I get rid of the red x because I didin't upload a photo? Can I do that or will I need to upload some type of photo???
