Uploading pics - Images not resized and are cut off

PROBLEM:

We have set up a Gallery category where users may post images. Large pics are not being automatically resized, and they appear to be cut off.

DESCRIPTION:

Recently a user has uploaded an image 1024x685 and included it in a forum post. The displayed image width is cut off and is only 768 wide.

RESEARCHING STEPS TO RESOLVE:

The Upload Your Image window indicates that the image can be resized to 800px for forums.




We have looked in the admin section and found the path ADMIN > MODULES > GALLERY > UPLOAD, where image width and height can be adjusted, but the numbers do not seem to match (and the path suggests it is relevant to the users personal gallery):





The Gallery > Upload area indicates pics have a max length of 1280 and max height of 1024, so we assume that it is relevant to the users personal gallery and has no effect on how pics are resized for forum posts.

SUMMARY

At this time we are unable to locate Admin settings that control images for forum posts. What are our next steps to resolve this?
