Need some help with email notifications
Hi Folks I was testing my forum today and I wanted to see how new members get an email as a welcome to the forum and I was quite shocked at what they receive which is below
Hello *********,
Your account on "" has now been activated, you may login using the username and
password you have received in a previous email.
As you can see there is no mention of my forum name between the "" "" so how would anyone know which forum this email is talking about? can anyone tell me how I can add my forums name to this standard email?
Also when a new member registers on my forum they are presented with this on the screen....
Your account has been created. However, this forum requires account activation by an administrator. An e-mail has been sent to them and you will be informed when your account has been activated.
Is it possible to add these words to it .....Please remember to check your spam folder I have had 4 members contact me in the past because the activation email went into their spam folder so god knows how many potential members never got back to me about it? so I would like to know how I can add the words above ie Please remember to check your spam folder
Thank you

Re: Need some help with email notifications
Its not possible to edit the email it is standard for all forums. You could suggest being able to edit the emails in the suggestion section. I don't think its possible to edit the register message because its standard on all forums and would require database access.

Re: Need some help with email notifications
Sir you can PM it to all newly registered members as well.Admin Panel>General>Message and Emails>Private messages>Enable the welcome private message then fill the following boxes there>Save.
You could use this code so that the members username will always be there.

Thank you but I think you may have misunderstood? what I want to do is to edit the standard email that is sent out by the system? which we do not have access to, and to also edit the standard message that is presented to the new member at the point of registration
Thank you

Re: Need some help with email notifications
It doesn't appear to be of important as "forumotion" still get their plug, maybe that's just it! they wouldn't want their plug removed.

Re: Need some help with email notifications
I can't see it should be a problem it would be quite a simple change, but why is no one from Forumotion not answering ?

Re: Need some help with email notifications
I understand what you say Sanket but it would be good to have an answer as to why this can not be done? or is there a possible way round it so that new members can be notified in some other way automatically ?
Thank you

Re: Need some help with email notifications
Well i am no tech, so neither i or any other person can answer this question.
Also what you are asking for is not possible. Unless you mail each one of them manually when they register.

Re: Need some help with email notifications
Thank you Sankit, so I have my forum set so that I have to activate the accounts, so how would I be able to stop the automatic email going out? and don't they have a special link that they have to click ? which is in the automatic email ?
Thank you

For that you need to put the account activation onto automatic.
